Help a brother out.

Click here to help save this dudes arm

http://grimmetalworx.blogspot.com/2012/02/broken-bone-update.html

Sean over at grim cycle salvage fucked up and broke his arm off. Even if you send just a buck its one step closer to this dude getting some cash together to save his arm. If you were about to lose your arm wouldn't you be wishing for a bunch of random fuckers to toss a few bucks your way. I know tons of you guys know what its like to live without insurance and scrape by. It sucks, it's scary and you'll get some good karma points if you help out.

Holy shit i posted something

I have been really lazy with the posting lately if you haven't noticed. But i haven't been lazy at work, 12-16 hour days and nights trying to get a bike ready for the v-twin expo in cincy. It's been insane to say the least. We are putting together a full custom roadglide to promote our rake kit that we put together a little while back. We have put a custom touch on pretty much every part of this thing. We made the gas tank, rear fender, bag fillers, extended the bags and boxed them in really nicely, hidden bag mounts, redesigned fairing mount, custom headlights and filler plate, hell i'm even building the fork sliders for this thing. And the weird thing is even though this bike is more time consuming with all the bodywork and shit, it has been easier than building a full custom chopper. Maybe because it is easier to hide shit, maybe it's less creative, or maybe i just have a good team rolling on this one, i don't know to be honest. I do know that it is gonna be really killer when it's all said and done. We have a booth at the expo for the first time this year and i am really stoked about that. It has been a long time coming for this place. I will let you all know how it goes when i get back.

I haven't forgotten about this place and things should pick up again after we get back from the expo.

On another note our buddy john over at the damn bandits has set up a blog for our friend ryan who is enjoying a stay in prison at the moment. You can check it out and ask him questions at http://www.askajailbird.com/ Reading his stuff is worthwhile.

Raked Bagger Kit

 Welded up the neck
Beauty shot of the whole kit
This is what the shop looks like at 2 in the morning

Last night harlan and i finished up the video for the neck kit install. Right now he is finishing up the editing of the flick and will be up on youtube in a couple days. The movie a few posts down is part one. Watch it, like it, comment on it. I really do want to hear what you all think of the kit. Harlan and i are also planning to start a youtube show that will basically be like a poor mans top gear (the good bbc version) for motorcycles. Unless you want to give us a whole shitload of money then we will do a rich mans version of top gear for bikes. The first episode of that should be out in a couple weeks. I'll be sure to post it up here.

nap time

so tonight steve-o stopped by the shop to do some work on the shovel chop that has been getting neglected for a while now, awesome new seat and set up the rocker arms and shafts. We need to pic up some longer banjo bolts for the external oil cross overs, but its looking good so far. I tore down the top end on my little brothers chopper. He was complaining about the base gaskets leaking. I found both exhaust valve springs broken, a completely wasted intake seal, barely any carbon on the pistons and still some nice cross hatch in the cylinders even with over 40k on the engine. Time for some beehive springs and new gaskets. Then we got some really good heavy mexican food and beers and i took a food coma. Thanks for dinner buddy.

the other night

harlan and i split out in his s-10 and drove north to go pick up a chainsaw from my old man. We took off at about ten at night, got back at 8 in the morning and went straight into work. Miserable day at work, awesome night with a buddy. We talked about how most of the people we know would have said no way to driving 450 miles in one night to go get a stupid ass saw. I'm glad we are the kind of people who will do things like this just because... why not lets go. It was a great time, we laughed at shit till the road got blurry with tears, hung out with my crazy pops for a few,and even picked up a bad ass couch. Simply enough, go do something that doesn't make sense, even if your miserable later the good time and the story you get to tell later are worth it.

Jesse James Vs. OCC Tonight at 9

http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/10/27/jesse-james-american-chopper/

i'm gonna watch it. Hopefully jesse gets some decent air time, but i'm suspecting that it will be mostly pissing between the old man and his kids. I can't wait to see what they bring to the table.

welded up

 sleeve details

welded up, motor dropped back in. Right now i'm playing dress up with different tanks, fenders, ect. Loving this so much more than a week ago. The loopy lower rails were kind of an accident that i turned out really cool. We loaned out our tubing bender to a buddy so i had to make due with some pre bent pieces from a previous build that didn't look quite right..
