So someone thought the best way to fix this pressure plate was to braze in a course thread square nut, off center on top of that. My attempt at using a propane torch to loosen its golden grip failed quite terribly. We even tried adding oxygen to the mix from our oxy acetylene set up that was out of acetylene and that didn't work. I ended up ordering a billet plate for thirty bucks and tossed the old one in my "to fix in case of feeling cheap pile." Old bikes with a billion previous owners rule.
Yeah buddy, working on the triumph again. Got started on a nice simple loop sissy bar last night.
Picked up a Makita drill and impact combo today my old porter cable drill is due for retirement to the home box. But what I wanna know is why the hell does my impact glow in the dark? I think it's cool as fuck yet still confusing.
I got the two sideplate supports machined out today, I really wish I had a cnc setup but a bandsaw, a Bridgeport, and some hand files will do me just fine. I'm hoping to have a ohlin shock by the end of next week and get started on the aluminium subframe assembly.
